Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that we have already finished two months of school, and it is amazing how the children are progressing. This week, we learned the difference between day and night and the kinds of things we can do at each time of the day. We explored a pumpkin using our five senses and talked about the kind of face we might make on our jack-o-lantern. Feelings were also discussed as we heard about a character who was afraid of Halloween costumes, thinking that if a costume is worn, you are no longer yourself. We acknowledged that each person has different feelings at different times and that those feelings are normal. Talking about our feelings helps us to learn to deal with them.
On Halloween, we were pleased to have a few of our parents come to school to do some fun activities with the children, and later, many parents came to see their children dressed up and leading a Halloween parade. The children were very happy with the day. Thank you so much for being a part of an enjoyable celebration.
We are continuing to learn letters and sounds, number concepts, opposites, and many other things. Ask your child if he/she can show you sign language which we have been using to express the goodness of God. God gave us light, sky, stars, land, birds, people, and also gave us our eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin. Hopefully, your child will be able to show you the signing!
Next, we will be talking about life during pioneer days and learn about the first Thanksgiving. Enjoy your preparation for this wonderful time when we can remember the gifts God has given us.
God bless you.
Sincerely, Sr. Anne
