 Dear Parents,

  Spring pictures for the children will be postponed till another date- I will keep you posted when that will be.  On Friday, March 3rd we have an 11 am dismissal. I am also sending home a flier about BINGO tonight. 

Next week the children will be learning about two great saints, Saint Patrick and Saint Joseph.  The class will start to work in their Stations of the Cross Booklet and we will be reinforcing the meaning of Lent, caring, sharing, and helping. 

  In Math the class will be working on composing and decomposing numbers 11-19 as well as counting up to 100 different ways. It is great that the children can count by 10’s, but we will work on 5’s as well. 

  The new letters of the week will be Xx, Yy and Zz.  We will be focusing on vowels Oo and Uu.  The new sight words will be any and make. Just wanted to alert you to a small change in homework in the next week or two.  Your child will start having Kit pages sent home. When you do see these pages come home, please have your child read the Kit pages that are sent home.  This will strengthen his/her recognition of sight words and help with decoding. We will start reading Kit in class as well.  We are still working on short vowels Ee, Oo, Ii  and Aa and will be working on  –et, -at,  - an, -ig, -–it , -og and -op word families.
