Fourth graders are very busy. In Religion class, we will soon be discussing the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. The Sacrament of Baptism gives us new life in Christ. The Sacrament of Eucharist is the heart of the Church's life. The Sacrament of Confirmation seals us with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
In Math, the fourth grade is wrapping up the topic of division. We will be getting ready for fractions by identifying factors and multiples of numbers, as well as the difference between prime and composite numbers.
The subject of English Language Arts will include learning about story elements such as characters, setting, problem, and solution. We will enjoy reading the book The One and Only Ivan.Fourth graders will also continue to work on writing and grammar skills.
In Social Studies, the fourth grade will focus on the state of New York’s role in the Revolutionary War, including West Point, as well as the Battle of Saratoga.
In our next topic in Science we will learn to identify landforms, rocks, and minerals, and provide evidence to explain how Earth’s features are formed and change over time.
